奉獻(xiàn)樹(shù)

　　Once there was a tree…and she loved a little boy. Every day the boy would come and he would gather her leaves and make them into crowns and play king of the forest.He would climb up her trunk and swing from her branches and eat apples. And they would play hide-and-go-seek. And when he was tired, he would sleep in her shade. And the boy loved the tree very much…。And the tree was happy.

　　從前有一棵樹(shù)，她喜歡一個(gè)小男孩。每天男孩都會(huì)跑到這棵樹(shù)下?lián)炻淙~，做成王冠，把自已裝扮成森林之王。男孩總是爬上樹(shù)干，在樹(shù)枝扛蕩秋千，吃樹(shù)上的蘋果，他們還會(huì)一起玩捉迷藏的游戲。男孩累了，就在樹(shù)蔭里睡覺(jué)。小男孩非常喜愛(ài)這棵樹(shù)，大樹(shù)也十分開(kāi)心。

　　But time went by. The boy grew older, and the tree was often alone.

　　但是時(shí)光流逝，男孩逐漸長(zhǎng)大，大樹(shù)常常形單影只。

　　Then one day the boy came to the tree and the tree said."Come, Boy, come and climb up my trunk and swing from my branches and eat my apples and play in my shade and be happy."

　　有一天男孩來(lái)到大樹(shù)旁，大樹(shù)說(shuō)：“來(lái)吧，孩子，爬到我的樹(shù)干上，在樹(shù)枝上蕩秋千，吃幾個(gè)蘋果，再到陰涼里玩一會(huì)兒，你會(huì)開(kāi)心的！”

　　"I am too big to climb and play." said the boy. "1 want to buy things and have fun. I want some money. Can you give me some money?"

　　“我已經(jīng)大了，不愛(ài)爬樹(shù)玩兒了，”男孩說(shuō)，“我想買些東西，想找些樂(lè)子。我需要錢，你能給我些錢嗎？”

　　"I'm sorry," said the tree, "but I have no money. I have only leaves and apples. Take my apples, Boy, and sell them in the city. Then you will have money and you will be happy."

　　“很抱歉，”大樹(shù)說(shuō)，“我沒(méi)有錢，我只有樹(shù)葉和蘋果。把我的蘋果拿去，孩子，把它們拿到城里賣掉，你就會(huì)有錢，就會(huì)快活了。”

　　And so the boy climbed up the tree and gathered her apples and carried them away.

　　于是男孩爬上樹(shù)，摘下蘋果，把蘋果帶走了。

　　And the tree was happy.

　　大樹(shù)很快樂(lè)。

　　But the boy stayed away for a long time…and the tree was sad.

　　但是男孩離開(kāi)了很久，大樹(shù)很難過(guò)。

　　And then one day the boy came back and the tree shook with joy and she said, "Come,Boy, climb up my trunk and swing from my branches and be happy."

　　后來(lái)有一天，男孩回來(lái)了，大樹(shù)高興地?fù)u晃著肢體，說(shuō)道：“來(lái)吧，孩子，爬到我的樹(shù)干上，在樹(shù)枝上蕩秋千，你會(huì)很快活的！”

　　I am too busy to climb trees," said the boy. "I want a house to keep me warm," he said. "I want a wife and I want children, and so I need a house. C an you give me a house?"

　　“我太忙了，沒(méi)有時(shí)間爬樹(shù)”男孩說(shuō)，“我需要一幢房子保暖。”他接著說(shuō)，“我要娶個(gè)妻子，還要生些孩子，所以我需要一幢房子。你能給我一幢房子嗎？”

　　"I have no house," said the tree. "The forest is my house, but you may cut my branches and build a house. Then you will be happy."

　　“我沒(méi)有房子，”大樹(shù)說(shuō)，“森林就是我的房子。但是你可以砍下我的樹(shù)枝去蓋房，那樣你就會(huì)開(kāi)心了。

　　And so the boy cut off her branches and carried them away to build his house. And the tree was happy. But the boy stayed away for a long time.

　　于是男孩把大樹(shù)的樹(shù)枝砍了下來(lái)，把它們帶走蓋了一幢房子。大樹(shù)很快樂(lè)，但是男孩很久都沒(méi)有再來(lái)。

　　And when he came back, the tree was so happy that she could hardly speak. "Come,Boy," she whispered, "come and play."

　　當(dāng)他又回來(lái)的時(shí)候，大樹(shù)非常高興，高興得幾乎說(shuō)不出話來(lái)。“來(lái)吧，孩子，”她低聲說(shuō)，“來(lái)和我玩吧！”

　　"I am too old and sad to play," said the boy. "I want a boat that will take me far away from here. Can you give me a boat?"

　　“我年紀(jì)已經(jīng)大了，心情也不好，不愿意玩。”男孩說(shuō)，“我需要一條船，離開(kāi)這里，去遙遠(yuǎn)的地方。你能給我一條船嗎？”
